  • Weather permitting, the ceremony will take place in the open-air Beatrix Ferrand Walled Garden at Shepherd’s Run. If skies are less cooperative, we’ll seamlessly transition the celebration indoors.

Cocktail hour will float between indoor and outdoor spaces, so you can sip and mingle wherever feels best.

Regardless of the forecast, the reception will be held indoors, where the festivities will carry on in full swing.

  • Formal attire: Think suits, dresses, gowns, formal jumpsuits, and dress shoes.

Bring an elegant Venetian-style mask for the masquerade reception. Whether adorned with delicate lace, shimmering embellishments, or classic filigree, your mask will add to the enchantment of this unforgettable evening. Yes, you may wear horns and glitter is encouraged.

Please refrain from wearing your masks during the wedding ceremony so we may see your beautiful faces as we say “I do.” Don your masks for the cocktail hour and reception! They’ll add an air of mystery and grandeur to the festivities.

  • There are amazing masks on Etsy!

BeyondMasquerade is a well reviewed online retailer.

If you’re in Manhattan definitely visit Halloween Adventure and Gothic Renaissance, both on 4th Avenue.

  • We do not recommend wearing stiletto heels because the ceremony may be on grass. Chunky heels or sandals are best (or change into stilettos after the ceremony).

  • Please refrain from taking photos during the ceremony, but take as many photos as you like afterwards! Please use #altairandpetedothething.

  • We were adamant about keeping and legalizing our November 20th anniversary—an anniversary we’ve held since 2007—but did not want to host a wedding in November.
